Interpol, October 18th @ Wamu Theather – Seattle WA
October 22nd, 2007
Last Thursday I had the opportunity to go see Interpol, who are promoting their Our Love To Admire album. They sound amazingly good in concert, and they play most of their repertoire. They played my all time favorite “Take You on a Cruise”, which IMHO was the best song of the whole show. The light effects were pretty awesome, with the scenery changing colors a lot as you will see in the pics.
Now the bad part: the concert was in the US. I don’t know why but in the area of the concert in front of the stage where people usually stand up, there were chairs!!!!! This meant a lot less space for everyone. Add some concert “cops” who wanted to make sure the spaces between rows of chairs was not too crowded and you got yourself a very annoying experience. Plus, these assholes came over and gave me shit about taking pictures with my iPhone. One asshole was asshole enough to make me “delete” the pic. I just did some juggling with the interface and said, “there, deleted” (which of course I did not do).
Overall, the music was amazing. The whole thing with the chairs, the camera, the $7 for a freakin Bud, and the patrolling assholes did spoil things a bit. Ok…now I only have to see Muse live and I can die a happy man. Some pics:
BTW, does anyone know how to embed slideshows from Flickr to a blog?
Screw Flicker, Gmail Picassa Web Albums tears Flickr a new one:
